Essential in isolated power supply architectures, an expansion of this Flyback transformer solutions family was long overdue. Focused on making electric mobility and industrial automation experiences better, these reliability-first solutions cater for high performance, high demand, power conversion. Be it EV/PHV onboard chargers, AC/DC & DC/DC converters, and industria or medical systems. With these Flyback transformers extanded family, let your power consuming engineering challenges just fly away.
Let all power related worries just fly away. E.D.E. Electronics is proud to present the new, and improved, Flyback transformers family, the expanded family. The unrivalled creation of E.D.E’s strategic partner, and electromagnetic visionary PREMO group, the Flyback solutions family was recently upgraded with newer, more nuanced, solutions. PREMO, a leading global manufacturer of inductive components, had designated the Constant Fly tech solutions for high-performance power conversion in Electric Vehicle/Plug in Hybrid Vehicle (EV/PHV) onboard chargers, AC/DC & DC/DC current converters, industrial applications and even medical systems.
As each solution was fitted to answer specific needs of a specific sector, each one is a different toolkit for the constant Flyer. In short, these transformers are key for efficient and fluent voltage transformation with galvanic isolation, making them essential components in isolated power supply settings. Meeting the needs of the tech world for the ever-growing demand for compact, high-efficiency solutions across the electric mobility and industrial automation sectors.
We all know and love the high-powered Flyback transformers (FLY-001, FLY-002 and FLY-003 respectively) for EV charging, but now there are many more. A total of 15 unique, highly reliable-highly durable Flyback transformer solutions to be exact. Equally important, all these Quasi-resonant transformers are neatly tuned in for quasi-resonant flyback applications. As a matter of fact, these offer 15 to 17.5µH inductance and high isolation, while operating in a frequency ranging from 50kHz to 300kHz. Moreover, these solutions adhere and comply with multiple standards such as UL94, RoHS, and AEC-Q200 (for selected models). A reliability-first approach in the world of electromagnetic components. Furthermore, this Flyback family is fully optimized for thermal efficiency, Electromagnetic Interface (EMI) suppression, and compact designs.
Not only that, two are designed for High-Frequency Surface Mounted Device Transformers, operating at 480kHz. Best suited to deal with continuous-mode flyback topologies with limited space requirements. In addition, four solutions of the Flyback transformers are most suited to cater for mid and low power transformers. As they are suited to power levels from 1.5W to 25W, used in xEV mainboards and compact AC/DC converter systems.
Notably, three of the solutions family’s array were designed for auxiliary power management in electric vehicles, offering multi-voltage outputs with robust thermal and mechanical performance. In conclusion, ensuring proper operability of automotive auxiliary power. As a Fly-over treat, the Fly-014 solution operates at 130kHz with 25Vdc/1.8A output. Additionally, It is designed for 300–400Vdc input. Making industrial and medical-grade applications operate much smoother.
