Especially developed for the European RISCCOM project, this functional remote secure vehicle access demonstrator provides seamless access security for automotive and IoT applications. with advanced authentication, encryption and system protection mechanisms- this NFC for contactless access solution provides 3 different access pathways.
Contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) access was never more secure. Through the European RISCCOM project, a new stage of Ultra Band Width (UBW) NFC for contactless access technology had begun. E.D.E. Electronics Ltd. is proud to present the new 3-layered NFC for contactless access solution. perhaps it is time for RISC-V to be risk free.
Additionally, this functional secure vehicle access demonstrator is fully equipped with a mobile application for access management and control. made by electromagnetics magnate Premo Group, this solution provides at least 3 validated access modes. Firstly, the solution provides Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) capabilities using UWB for precise positioning and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for secure authentication. Mainly for digital key location and key exchange respectively. In terms of automotives, the solution enables user to unlock, start and manage their vehicles using their smart device.
Furthermore, in this proof of concept, the digital key centred NFC for contactless access solution provides access only if the key is within a certain distance and angle of arrival. Remote access via phone is granted by using a button of Premo group’s mobile app. By leveraging NFC technology to its finest, access is granted even if the Smart device has battery issues or is not available.
In continuation, there is also a “manual access” option using NFC tech, providing a robust and reliable alternative. Taken all of the above, the solution provides layered-on security using public keys, secure storage and key authentication mechanisms. Making the contactless access less accessible for hostile parties.
Highly suited for automotive and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, this solution has been designed and validated according to strict cybersecurity requirements. Essentially integrating advanced authentication, encryption and system protection mechanisms into one contactless protection framework. As part of the RISCCOM program, this NFC for contactless access solution is based on a RISC-V processor. Thus, supporting the project’s vision of open, secure and efficient architectures for the future of automotive systems.
