“Take me down to memory city”

Posted

Designed for the needs of numerous applications which require small capacity durable memory solutions. Cost-effective is the mindset at hand. The betterment of our day-to-day experiences is the goal. Introducing a technological step forward, on a small scale. After “improving your tune” with this array of splendid memory solutions for the everyday use, you may find technological harmony. What do you say?

“Take me down to memory city, where DATA is safe and connection ready”: It might not be the most accurate quote of a rock classic, but it’s definitely an Hi-tech one. The various industries have various needs. Some are demanding, big, extensive. Some are miniscule, precise, delicate. Such is the way of technology. Such is the way of hi-tech memory technology. While some actions require an ever-growing hunger for more and more storage capacities, others require the more tailored touch. In light of countless “standardized” applications and services, which require only a fraction from the ever-growing memory solutions of big game-big DATA operations, a new  quality-centered extension to the already available e.MMC and SD memory cards’ families had been revealed. Based on 3D-Triple Level Cell (TLC)-NAND technology, these solutions, by memory visioner Swissbit, extend the operational integration of the EM-30 and the S-56(u) SD memory modules’ existing families.

Made with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in mind, this new designation of high reliability memory products is oriented towards those applications which require only a low amount of memory storage in order to optimally run boot software or to communicate with cloud apps. Notably, these industries, particularly present in modern smart cities, include storage capacities, which  range from 4 to 8 GB and target multiple technologies and appliances such as charging stations, smart meters, PV inverters, white appliances, payment devices, point-of-sale systems, industrial control systems, medical diagnostic systems, control units for intelligent building management, sustainable energy management and even patient monitoring systems.

As a result, these memory modules rival the performance of the more traditional, more expensive SLC models and even outperform existing corresponding MLC apparatuses. Available as an embedded component in the form of an e.MMC or as flexible, interchangeable SD memory cards- the EM-30 (153 ball BGA) product series and the S-56(u) SD memory cards family are the best reliability-based reliable solutions for small scale memory operations. This conclusion stems in part from an outstanding ability to sustain sequential data rates of up to 280MB/s read and 120MB/s write, as well as 11k IOPS random read and 16k IOPS random write (in the EM-30 series), or an ability of sequential read and write data rates of 95 MB/s and 74 MB/s (for the S-56(u) and the MicroSD solutions’ families respectively). Furthermore, as the S-56(u) family is designed with advanced over-provisioning and pSLC technology, it is the most durable and optimal choice for write intensive workload environs. Its endurance for small data logging even surpasses that of an SLC card for the first time.
